Coating Machine/Honeycomb Mill - Drying, Depolymerization, Modification/Surface Coating

Honeycomb mill is a mechanical airflow mill, designed for the production of ultra-fine mineral powder which requests an extremely high standard of particle size. It conducts the practical process of drying after depolymerization, then synchronously implements shaping, and surface coating for powders.

Product Description

Continuous Powder Surface Modification/Coating Machine - Honeycomb Mill/Coating Machine

Cell mill is a mechanical mill that advocates a practical process of first depolymerizing then drying, and synchronous surface treatment. It is specifically designed for the production of ultrafine powders with strict requirements for particle size distribution.

Simultaneously achieve grinding, drying, sorting, and chemical treatment for the surface of powder, while drying and depolymerizing wet ground filter cake and slurry.

The minimum processing capacity is 0.05 tons/hour, the maximum is 15 tons/hour, and the maximum water evaporation capacity is 3 tons/hour.

According to the diversity of materials, different materials can be used inside the equipment, which has the advantage of retaining the color and purity of the materials. The coverage rate can reach 99.2%, and the activation rate can reach 99.8%.

  Features of Honeycomb Mill:

  1. Cell mill is based on a modular design, which allows optimum design for each piece of equipment for different environments while maintaining the basic principles and the same parts.
  2. The equipment performance is optimized by varying the number of layers of the rotor and the number of blades. The separator installed in one piece will not affect the structure of the main grinding chamber.
  3. The structural design of the module makes it easy to maintain and replace consumable parts.
  4. The material of the rotor blade can be hardened steel, stainless steel, or steel-bonded tungsten.
  5. The material of the grinding groove shall be steel, stainless steel, or high-alumina ceramic.

Honeycomb Mill Characteristics

  1. The rotor and liner strip can be taken out of the mill as a whole

  2. The rotor and liner can be repaired outside the mill to reduce downtime

  3. The rotating parts use driving pins instead of keys for easy installation.

  4. No blades or liner bolts in the mill.

  5. The rotating parts are subject to dynamic balance inspection before installation to ensure the service life of the bearing.

  6. No adjustments to the cell mill are required during normal operation.

Simple Working Principle of Honeycomb Mill

The main component is a vertically mounted multi-stage depolymerization wheel, each depolymerization wheel consisting of two supporting trays mounted on the spindle to clamp 200 blades. Depending on the specific load requirements, one cell mill can be fitted with 10 depolymerization wheel components, and up to 2000 depolymerization blades. The blades rotate at 110 m/sec and the 6mm of the grinding groove is a unique stiffening rib-type fixing strip. There are 160 turbulent "honeycombs" between the blade and the liner strip, the pressure, shear force, and friction force between them can quickly grind the material into superfine powder.

A Practical Process System from Honeycomb Mill

Cell mill modification is a type of air-sweeping system, in which materials are transported to the system through airflow to change their characteristics.

The cell mill grinding modification process is an efficient process system that requires very precise feeding and stable control technology.

According to the different characteristics of the materials, they are accurately quantified and weighed, and enter the hot air system through a frequency conversion speed control device. After being removed by the hot air, the surface free water of the materials is fully dispersed, depolymerized, and reduced to the original particles or natural crystal size in the honeycomb mill.

The fully depolymerized and reduced particles boil and entangle with the atomized modifier in the air to form a single-layer nano-coating film. After processing, the finished product leaves the mill through airflow and is transported to the backwash bag filter.

Honeycomb Mill Drying Function

When the process gas is heated by the hot air generator, the honeycomb mill becomes an efficient dryer. The maximum temperature acceptable for the honeycomb mill is 450°C. The degree of drying of the product is controlled by controlling the outlet temperature, which is typically 85°C.

The main function of drying is to break the hydrogen bonds on the surface of nanoparticles, adsorb wet bridges and other chemical bonds, prevent the mutual adhesion and aggregation between particles, and make the basis for the subsequent depolymerization and crushing.

Deep drying powder moisture content was decreased to 5at the same time, and the modifier gas was into a single particle package material more uniform.

Drying Function from Honeycomb Mill

When the process gas is heated by a hot air generator, the honeycomb mill will become an efficient dryer. The maximum temperature that a honeycomb mill can accept is 450℃. By controlling the outlet temperature, the drying degree of the product is controlled, with a typical outlet temperature of 85℃.

The main function of drying is to break the hydrogen bonds, adsorb wet bridges, and other chemical bonding interactions on the surface of nanoparticles, prevent mutual adhesion and aggregation between particles, and lay the foundation for subsequent depolymerization and crushing.

The moisture content of the deeply dried powder is reduced to 5‱, and the modifier is gasified into a single particle to wrap the material more evenly.

Depolymerization function from Honeycomb Mill

The cell mill operates at a linear speed of 110 meters per second, driving a strong airflow that allows agglomerated powder particles to stay inside the stator with a special groove design. The wind pressure and wind speed form strong vortices, resulting in shear, friction, and centrifugal forces that quickly roll the material into a single particle and return it to its original size or natural crystal size. The material is brought out of the honeycomb mill's depolymerization chamber by the rotor in a boiling state.
