In practical applications, material compatibility issues are particularly prominent in inkjet printing. Different printing materials—such as textile fibers, plastic films, and paper—exhibit vastly different surface characteristics and chemical properties. Ink stability is a critical issue. During storage and use, inks must maintain good physical and chemical stability. In storage, inks should avoid phenomena such as dye precipitation and layering; otherwise, the ink's homogeneity will be compromised, leading to clogging of the print heads and subsequently affecting the continuity and quality of the printing process. During the jetting process, parameters such as ink viscosity and surface tension must remain stable to ensure that ink droplets are accurately and uniformly ejected onto the printing substrate. If the ink lacks sufficient stability, problems such as uneven droplet sizes and unstable jetting directions may arise, resulting in defects like color variations and inconsistent line thicknesses in the printed patterns. Moreover, environmental factors—such as changes in temperature and humidity—can significantly impact ink stability, further complicating the inkjet printing process.

When processing various materials in inkjet printing, the coating and modification machine can significantly enhance material performance, meeting the stringent requirements of inkjet printing.

For pigment modification, coating modification machines primarily focus on enhancing the dispersibility of pigments. By coating the surface of pigment particles with a substance that exhibits excellent dispersing properties—such as surfactants or polymers—agglomeration of pigment particles can be effectively prevented. These coating substances exert effects like electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance, ensuring that pigment particles are uniformly dispersed throughout the ink. For example, in aqueous inkjet inks, after surface coating of organic pigments, the pigment particles can remain stably dispersed in water, greatly improving the ink’s stability. During prolonged storage and use, no pigment sedimentation occurs, thereby guaranteeing the consistent quality of printed patterns.

In terms of fillers, the function of a coating and modification machine is to enhance the compatibility between the filler and the polymer. In inkjet printing processes, inorganic fillers are often used to reduce costs and improve the physical properties of the ink. By modifying the surface of the filler, the coating and modification machine introduces functional groups on the filler surface that have chemical structures similar to those of the polymer matrix, or it coats the filler with a substance that exhibits excellent compatibility with the polymer matrix. This effectively improves the compatibility between the filler and the polymer.
