Unlike the heavy-duty grinding requirements in the industrial sector, material processing in the consumer goods industry places greater emphasis on “fineness, stability, and safety.” The core raw materials typically include non-metallic mineral powders, plant extracts, and chemical additives. The processing performance of these materials directly determines the texture, efficacy, and safety of the final products. The reason why vertical grinders have become the preferred equipment in the consumer goods industry lies in their ability to precisely match the processing characteristics of various raw materials—preserving the core efficacy of the materials themselves while achieving performance enhancements through fine grinding, thereby maximizing the value of the raw materials.

First, powder raw materials in the cosmetics industry—covering three major categories: fillers, colorants, and sunscreens—are core components of both makeup products and skincare items. Among the fillers, kaolin, talc, mica, and porous silica primarily serve to optimize product texture and enhance the feel during application. — Porous silica must be ground to an ultrafine particle size to fully unleash its outstanding oil-absorbing and oil-control properties, thereby enhancing the staying power of skincare products. Flake talc needs to be finely ground to reduce its hardness, ensuring smoother application of makeup products. Spherical PMMA powders, on the other hand, must be ground to a uniform particle size in order to achieve a soft-focus, concealing effect. As for colorants—including inorganic pigments and organic lakes—and sunscreen agents such as nano-sized titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, they must be ground down to particle sizes ranging from several hundred nanometers to even tens of nanometers, guaranteeing even color dispersion, stable sun protection performance, and preventing any grainy texture that could compromise the user experience. This places stringent demands on grinding equipment: it must not only enable ultrafine grinding but also avoid any contamination of the raw materials.
Second, in the daily chemical cleaning sector, soap and detergent raw materials primarily consist of animal and vegetable oils, mineral powders, and surfactants. In soap production, oils and calcium carbonate raw materials must be ground into a fine slurry to ensure a uniform soap texture and high density, thereby preventing cracking and sanding while also producing richer, denser foam. As for detergents, additives such as zeolite powder and soda ash must be ground to specific particle sizes to enhance their stain-removal performance and enable rapid dissolution, thus avoiding residue that could damage clothing or skin.

Third, auxiliary materials used in home decoration and daily-use products—such as quartz sand and dolomite powder in wall coatings, and filler powders in plastic daily-use items—require grinding to enhance their purity and uniformity. After grinding, quartz sand can improve the wear resistance and adhesion of coatings, making walls smoother and more durable. As for plastic filler powders, they must be ground to an ultrafine particle size to ensure perfect compatibility with the plastic matrix, thereby enhancing the toughness and durability of the finished products while also reducing production costs.
The core processing requirements for these materials are highly consistent: First, the grinding precision must be controllable, allowing particle size to be adjusted according to product needs—from tens of nanometers to several hundred mesh; second, the grinding process must be free from impurity contamination, ensuring raw material purity and meeting the safety standards for daily-use products; third, the grinding process must preserve the material’s intrinsic efficacy without compromising its original properties; fourth, the process must exhibit strong stability during batch processing, guaranteeing consistent quality across every batch—this is precisely the key advantage of vertical grinding machines.
