Modified depolymerization machine and powder dryer for processing ultrafine coal gangue powder.

The ultrafine coal gangue powder has a relatively high moisture content, with tightly agglomerated particles that prevent the modifying agent from making adequate contact, resulting in limited modification effectiveness. Consequently, the powder can only be used as a low‑value base filler, making it difficult to achieve high‑value applications. Conventional processing requires three separate pieces of equipment—drying, dispersing, and modification—operating in staged steps, leading to high capital investment and a cumbersome process.

The honeycomb‑mill‑based modification and depolymerization unit features an integrated design with a powder dryer. After wet coal gangue powder is fed into the system, hot air dries it; the depolymerization rotor breaks up hard agglomerates, while a modifying agent simultaneously coats the powder’s surface, enhancing its filling performance. An in‑cavity automatic classification system ensures that only qualified product is discharged, while substandard powder is recirculated for further processing.

A single piece of equipment seamlessly integrates multiple processes—drying, loosening, and modification—thereby reducing costs associated with equipment procurement, plant footprint, and operations and maintenance. The system operates in a sealed, negative-pressure environment, eliminating dust emissions, and is well-suited for coal‑gangue waste‑to‑resource projects in mining areas. By modifying the powder properties, it enhances the value of coal‑gangue‑based products, supporting sustainable, green production in the mining sector.
