Most existing coal mines and coal‑chemical facilities equipped with ball mills have long suffered from insufficient pulverization fineness and relatively high specific energy consumption. Completely replacing the entire production line entails high procurement costs, extensive plant‑modification work, and a prolonged commissioning timeline.
Adding a vertical cell mill to the downstream end of the existing ball mill is a common retrofit solution. The equipment serves as a second-stage fine‑grinding unit for coarse coal fines, optimizing the solids content of the coal slurry and enabling stable control of gasification feedstock consumption. With a compact footprint that eliminates the need for plant expansion, it features a short installation and commissioning period, thereby enhancing and optimizing the performance of the existing production line.

The equipment employs negative-pressure, enclosed processing, ensuring dust emissions comply with local environmental standards. Its wear‑resistant grinding media boasts a longer service life than conventional ball mill components, enabling steady reductions in consumable and energy costs over extended production runs. Paired with a variable-frequency, automated control system, it requires no additional manpower and is compatible with upgrades to existing pulp‑making lines of all types.
